- Using footage taken by Soviet battlefront cameramen, this penetrating documentary about Russian life during World War II is narrated by Walter Huston and features the likes of Joseph Stalin and Marshal Timoshenko. Producers Lewis Milestone, Joris Ivens, and George L. George assembled the film in the U.S., though the advent of the Cold War kept it from being shown for years.
