Synopsis: Karl and Tom are long time friends; who meet each morning to play chess in the park. However, shortly after a chance meeting with a young man, Tom dies. In an attempt to avoid the grief of Tom's death, Karl rids himself of the Chess Set and cuts himself off from everything and everyone. But strange happenings with the Chess Set lead him to an unexpected friendship and hope for the future. The Chess Set is a gentle story of grief, friendship and renewed hope.
