- Synopsis
- Based on a Juan Rulfo story, this film tells the story of Dionisio Pinzon, a poor peasant who becomes wealthy by raising gamecocks. He marries "La Caponera", whom he takes as his lucky charm, but eventually looses all his money in gambling. This film marks the first collaboration between Ripstein and his scriptwriter Paz Alicia Garciadiego.
