- Synopsis
- The Whistler was the first of eight Columbia "B" thrillers based on the popular radio series of the same name. The Whistler, a shadowy (and unbilled) figure, introduced each film as he'd done on radio: "I am the Whistler...and I know many things, for I walk by night." This time the Whistler tells the strange story of a depressed man who hires an assassin to kill him when he least expects it, but when his life takes an upward turn, he finds he now wishes to live.
