- Synopsis / Plot
- Willy owns huge villa in the Tiergarten (Berlin's Central Park). Due to housing shortage he is forced to take in lodgers. He invites his other bachelor buddies, all idle playboys like himself. Then a pretty and determined lady applies for a job as "Hausdame" which is a paid housekeeper functioning as mistress of the house. The Hausdame introduces some discipline, much to the displeasure of the female staff and the bachelors' girlfriends. Now I'm not perfectly sure about what follows: a burglar (talking with Berliner "snout") is accused of having broken into the villa and stolen the silver and the carpets. He is arrested, taken to the villa by the police for an interrogation on the premises. He escapes but secretly returns on Christmas Eve because he wants to spend the night with his bride in some cozy Christmas surroundings. He even returns the carpets "from the cleaners" and the next day gives himself up to the police.
