About this movie

From director Chris Cottam and the music genius behind so many of the 21st century's greatest hits, Guy Chambers, this holiday season Santa delivers A Christmas Number One movie. Meghna Rai (Frieda Pinto) was living the New York dream as a music manager and the girlfriend of the world's hottest popstar, Ranelle Spear (Richard Fleeshman). But, unfortunately for Meg, Ranelle loves himself even more than his fans do and, after finding out he has cheated on her, Meg turns to her boss Colleen Porter (Debi Mazar) for a new opportunity and an escape. The opportunity? Managing the boyband 5 Together in London. But whilst they are loved by teenage girls everywhere, their latest self-written album has flopped and, in the opinion of the record company boss, Grainger Cocksmith (Alfie Boe), they need a Christmas number one to prevent them from being dropped and to keep Cocksmiths Records afloat. When 5 Together offer up another inappropriate song, named Christmas Miracle, Meg and her assistant turn their attention to the internet where they discover teenage vlogger, Nina Cutter (Helena Zengel), sharing her uncle Blake Cutter's (Iwan Rheon) Christmas song. Having been diagnosed with terminal cancer, Christmas obsessive Nina had persuaded Blake to put his thrash metal song-writing work for his band Scurve to one side, so that he might write her the ultimate Christmas song. But secretly Nina has other plans: getting Blake to turn his back on his one-night stands and finding someone he can have a proper relationship with. Could Meg be the match for Blake that Nina has been looking for? When Meg goes in search of Blake at a rehearsal for his band - forgetting they met drunkenly before at a Battle of The Bands gig - Meg persuades Blake to give the hit to 5 Together. With Meg promising the proceeds will go to a cancer charity and that Blake can produce the record, Blake leaves his band Scurve two days before their tour. Will Blake's thrash metal mindset clash with the creative differences in the boy band bubble? Will Meg be able to cope with the diva demands of 5 Together and her boss Grainger? Will 5 Together get their much hoped for Christmas number one? Will Nina get her ultimate Christmas wish? And as Nina's illness gets worse, will everyone learn what's really important in life? Whatever happens next you can expect catchy songs, plenty of Christmas cheer, festive tears and a boy band stuck in the 1990s - Christmas wishes do come true!
