Horror. Thriller. Mystery
Donnas senior prom is supposed to be the best night of her life, one of magic, beauty, and love. Surrounded by her best friends, she should be safe from the horrors of her past. But when the night turns from magic to murder there is only one man who could be responsible, the man she thought was gone forever. Now, Donna and her friends must find a way to escape the sadistic rampage of an obsessed killer, and survive their Prom Night.

Remake totalmente innecesario del clásico slasher ochentero "Prom Night" (1980). "Una noche para morir" es el original título que le han dado a esta revisión hortera que causa vergüenza ajena al espectador, un auténtico despropósito para los amantes del subgénero Slasher y del cine de terror. No es más que un telefilm barato, un producto adolescente con estética, ambiente y música (Britney Spears y Tokio Hotel) de comedia romántica exclusiva y solo apta para chicos/chicas de instituto. El guión es bastante malo y brinda muchas estúpideces (SPOILER)... los personajes son puro cliché y las actuaciones penosas, los diálogos cutres, por si fuera poco, también tiene los típicos sustos fáciles y repetitivos (el del espejo) además carece totalmente de sangre (ni una sola gota). Un film aburrido, un rollo patatero en el cual no hay nada destacable o para rescatar. "Una noche para morir" es en toda regla una tomadura de pelo que además de ser floja es malisíma.

Estupideces del guión:
- Cuando llega Donna al hotel vemos que Fenton ya está en la recepción ¿Como sabía que Donna estaría alli?.
- Fenton "se pasea a sus anchas" por todo el hotel y las habitaciones como si nada ¿Y nadie se percata de su presencia?.
- Todas las chicas del baile de graduación vienen del instituto pero resulta que en el grupo no hay ninguna fea son todas caras bonitas ¿Las feas no aprueban?.
- El camarero del hotel ve a Fenton salir perfectamente de su habitación, se cruza con el y ve como el asesino esta abriendo otra habitación distinta del pasillo ¿No le parece algo raro y extraño?.
- ¿Porque el tipo de la recepción desde un principio no dice a los inspectores que han desaparecido dos de sus empleados del hotel?.
- Cuando la policía empieza a desalojar el hotel y salen un montón de gente por la puerta ¿Porque Fenton no aprovecha ese instante de confusión para camuflarse entre la gente y escapar por la puerta? (Cosa que hace más tarde).
