Hunter in the Dark

In 18th-century Japan, aging yakuza crime lord Gomyo (Tatsuya Nakadai) hopes to make a peaceful exit from the seedy lifestyle he's been maintaining, but, with threats coming from outsiders and those within his own clan of crooks, he realizes he will need a fierce bodyguard. Gomyo finds just the man he's looking for in Yataro (Yoshio Harada), who, despite having only one eye and amnesia, is a brilliant swordsman. However, old enemies from Yataro's past soon put both men in grave danger.
