A three part True Crime Drama about Peter Manuel Scotland's first serial killer. On 11 July, 1958, Peter Manuel, was hanged at HMP Barlinnie, Glasgow. His sixteen-day trial had been a media circus, covered by the world's press. It was the first time British TV had covered a murder trial in this way. The official indictment was also a first for British legal history. Never before had one man been tried simultaneously for eight murders. During his 2 year killing spree, as a twisted form of revenge and proof of his own superior cleverness, Manuel made Detective William Muncie his Number One target audience; sent him birthday and Christmas cards; left him tantalising clues. Addicted to the limelight, Manuel was a high-visibility killer who thrived on the panic and press generated by his crimes. This will be an intensely dramatic re-telling of a unique period in British history.
