Vendetta

Vendetta is the chilling story of a wave of Sicilian immigrants, singled out and exploited by New Orleans corrupt turn-of-the-century government. Upon the assassination of the police chief, hundreds of Sicilians were randomly rounded up as suspects. Nineteen were indicted, and nine were tried for the crime. When none were convicted, a dissatisfied mob of vigilantes took the law into their own hands and carried out the largest lynching in U.S. history. More than a hundred years after the fact, this little-known saga of prejudice and greed is finally told on film.
