Members of a paranormal exploration club go to an abandoned house to prove the existence of a frequency that contacts spirits. Frighteningly, the young students become the ghost’s host in this new Korean chiller. A SHUDDER ORIGINAL.

An experiment in terror is in store for paranormal researchers who enter a haunted house.

I won't lie: it's all been done before, to the point of being quite dull (and predictable for the most part). High quality filming though. A generous 2/5 skulls.

I have seen this movie a thousand times before, and so have you. A group of over-confident college kids go to an abandoned haunted house to do paranormal research, somebody gets possessed, a bunch of people die. You know the drill. The ghost looks terrible, so that ruins the fun there. There are only two things in the movie that were interesting, really. SPOILERS AHEAD 1 - The jealous lovers thing added an interesting element to the story. I was more creeped out by that one scene in the hospital than any of the ghost stuff. But, that gets resolved pretty much immediately. 2 - The shaman/exorcism angle, but that's also nothing we haven't seen in movies going all the way back to The Exorcist (and done better in films like The Wailing).

Seeing the other reviews I wonder if I'm desensitized to horror. If you've seen Asian ghost horror, this is nothing new, the CGI is not good and the characters don't leave behind much. The acting is good and I did love the sound design and the ghost itself. It's a fun movie night but don't put your bars too high, you will be disappointed.
