When Det. Peter Wendel is pulled into a pressing murder investigation, he must enlist the least suitable cops on the force to get his new cold-case group up and running.

The case is leaked to the media, creating chaos. Peter conceals his personal connection to the murder weapon, and he and Barbro have a close encounter with the killer.

When information about the murder weapon leaks out, Peter is suspected of the attorney’s murder. Jorma and Caijsa make a horrible discovery that has major consequences.

Peter has problems when he tries to contact the minister of justice. When a mysterious witness suddenly turns up, the investigation takes a new and unexpected turn.

Peter’s disdain for the minister of justice causes grave consequences for the cold-case group. Meanwhile, their suspect plans another horrible crime.

Peter refuses to accept his suspension and continues to follow the suspect. Meanwhile, Barbro starts her own investigation into a mysterious disappearance.

The suspected killer flees, taking a hostage. The cold-case group has to race against the clock to stop the killer’s plan, which involves the minister of justice.
