- Synopsis
- Famous Hong Kong director Johnnie To has recently made some comedies for the Chinese mainland market. But, he was always producing them through his HK company – allowing him to stay in control. With Drug War, he’s taking the next step, being directly produced by a Chinese company set in Beijing. To direct this mysterious thriller, whose synopsis is still being kept secret. To has been reluctant to make this move until then – he may be losing part of his artistic freedom. So, how will this affect his work? For your information, the film is written by his long-time screenwriter Wai Ka-fai. Shooting began late December 2011.
