- Synopsis
- EL CARACAZO dramatizes the events occurring on February 27, 1989 in Caracas, which forever changed the political destiny of Venezuela. A protest against rising ticket prices at the Guarenas bus station sparks a popular rebellion which carried on to Caracas and resulted in a violent confrontation when the government of Carlos Andres Perez reacted violently, killing hundreds of people. CARACAZO is a powerful historical drama about a critical moment in Venezuela’s turbulent history.
