Synopsis

It is 1990 and music journalist Ruth and her father Edek, a Holocaust survivor, take a trip through his homeland of Poland. Their journey will take them to Warsaw, Łódź, Kraków and the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Ruth wants to discover her own roots and explore her family's history. Edek, who at the time made the decision to leave Poland forever and do away with the past, accompanies his daughter mainly to keep an eye on her. When the two visit the old family home, meet the Polish family now living there, Edek's attitude begins to change.
