Synopsis

Richard, raffish heir to the throne of Laurentia, accepts exile in order to live with the woman he loves, Marta Karillos. After seven years, however, on the death of his father, he is persuaded to return, to succeeed to the throne, and to accept a proxy marriage to Princess Cristiane of Norseland.
