Academy Award winner Clark Gable stars with Walter Pidgeon and Myrna Loy in this story of a pair of globetrotting newsreel reporters--archcompetitors for the latest scoop and for a beautiful celebrity aviatrix who's Too Hot to Handle! Shanghai, 1938. Chris Hunter (Gable) and Bill Dennis (Pidgeon), in China to cover the Sino-Japanese war for American newsreels, will brave anything for a story--and will manufacture one when there's none to report. But when the two meet flyer Alma Harding (Loy), they both fall head-over-heels in love and agree to follow her to the jungles of South America to help find her long-lost brother--and a lot more adventure along the way--in this breakneck mix of romance, adventure and comedy.
