The Split

With meticulous planning, precise execution, and a handpicked crew, a team of daring thieves pulls off a bold daylight robbery of the Los Angeles Coliseum in this hard-edged contemporary film noir and star vehicle for ex-football star Jim Brown, along with a supporting cast of Hollywood veterans (Julie Harris, Ernest Borgnine, Jack Klugman, James Whitmore) and up-and-coming actors such as Donald Sutherland, Diahann Carroll, Gene Hackman, and Warren Oates. Things only start to go wrong after the heist, when a brutal landlord and a corrupt police detective both claim the stolen loot. This was the first theatrical release to receive an R rating under the new ratings system.
