Four zoo animals -- a perky, hyperactive lion; a nervous, hypochondriac giraffe; A no-nonsense hippo; and a bored zebra looking for adventure -- escape from the New York City Zoo. Drama -- and comedy -- ensues, once the animals discover they are in Africa! The movie looks promising, but peters out once the zoo animals find themselves in Madagascar. Some funny moments throughout, with just enough gross-out scenes to keep the young happy. Ages 4-12.
