Film noir. Mystery Singing star Mavis Marlowe is murdered just after receiving a heart shaped ruby brooch. Before Kirk Bennett, who discovers the body, can call the police, the brooch is taken by someone he can't see, and he flees in panic. Of course, circumstantial evidence ensures Bennett's conviction.
