- Synopsis
- Herbert Dawson entices Goldie Rowan to elope with him, leaving her husband and 3-year-old son, Johnny. Later, hearing her husband has died, she marries Dawson but is soon deserted by him. Johnny, growing up, gets a job in a grocery store, falls in love with the minister's daughter, Mary Douglas, and joins the church. When a traveling evangelist comes to town, Johnny is delegated to act as treasurer of his funds, but the evangelist--none other than Dawson--is a swindler who plans to have Johnny beaten and robbed. Seeing the wife he deserted in his congregation, Dawson tries to alter his plan to seize the funds but is killed by his cohorts. Goldie is reunited with her lost son and nurses him back to health.
