- Synopsis
- Sassy '20s Chicago dance hall girl Roxie (Rogers) decides to take the fall when hubby (Chandler) murders a man (She sees it as a publicity boost to her career). Slick lawyer Billy Flynn (Menjou) knows he can get the tootsie off if she justs flashes the jury her considerable sex appeal. Montgomery's a smitten reporter who catches Roxie's eye. Based on the play "Chicago" by Maurine Dallas Watkins and previously filmed in 1927. Bob Fosse later adapted the play for a Broadway musical, and Rob Marshall made the famous film "Chicago".
