About this movie

Captain William D. Stanaforth (Mark Strong) is on a one-way solo mission, taking humanity's first steps toward colonizing Mars. Although the entire world is watching him, he is completely alone in a dark and distant sea of stars. Did it ever occur to the filmmakers to ask for scientific advice? Or did they get advice and just ignore it? Do they not realize that the fuel cells that power spaceships produce both oxygen and water? Did they not know about necessary water shielding for a Mars mission? Did they forget the need to test the one key piece of equipment that would make life on Mars sustainable? Did they overlook the premise they stated at the beginning of the film that Mars had already been supplied in advance? This movie would have been great if only they invested a tiny bit of effort into plausibility.
