Synopsis

TV Miniseries (1993). 6 episodes. During 1956, in a British Military Intelligence Office in Whitehall, a small group of foreign affairs analysts find their quiet existence disrupted by the Suez Crisis. Bored with his job, Private Mick Hopper spends his days creating fantasy daydreams that involve his work colleagues breaking into contemporary hit songs. Sylvia Berry, wife of the violent Corporal Berry, is an object of desire for Mick's fellow clerk Private Francis Francis. Meanwhile, the War Office buzzes with the Suez Canal invasion, but the daydreaming soldiers Francis and Hopper are preoccupied with their visions of singing, dancing and beautiful women.
