| SYNOPSIS/PLOT |
ZERO DARK THIRTY (stands for 00:30, local time when the SEAL operation started) reunites the Oscar winning team of director-producer Kathryn Bigelow and writer-producer Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) for the story of history’s greatest manhunt for the world’s most dangerous man. The film tells the riveting account of Navy SEAL Team 6 and intelligence forces’ long hunt for Osama bin Laden. The Al Qaeda leader was killed during a raid on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan on May 1, 2011, nearly a decade after ordering the 9/11 attacks in New York and Washington. |
| PRO REVIEWS |
----------------------------------------
"Rivets for most of its running (...) The ultra-professional result may be easier to respect than enjoy, but there's no denying its power." (Peter Debruge: Variety)
----------------------------------------
"The story of the hunt for Osama bin Laden builds relentlessly to a powerful end result. (...) 'Zero Dark Thirty' could well be the most impressive film Bigelow has made" (Todd McCarthy: The Hollywood Reporter)
----------------------------------------
"First and last, Zero Dark Thirty is a movie, and a damned fine one. (...) This is movie journalism that snaps and stings, that purifies a decade’s clamor and clutter into narrative clarity, with a salutary kick."
(Richard Corliss: Time)
----------------------------------------
"The most important American fiction movie about Sept. 11 (...) Ms. Bigelow’s direction here is unexpectedly stunning, at once bold and intimate" (Manohla Dargis: The New York Times)
----------------------------------------
"Hang on tight. The knockout punch of the movie season is being delivered by 'Zero Dark Thirty'. You're in for a hell of a ride with this high-voltage thriller (...) Rating: **** (out of four)" (Peter Travers: Rolling Stone)
