Synopsis

Havana, first half of the 19th century. Cecilia, beautiful mestiza, ambitions the world of white aristocrats. His objective is Leonardo, a young nihilist and contradictory. Leonardo's mother opposes these loves and arranges his marriage to a rich girl. Cecilia, crazed with jealousy, induces one of her frustrated lovers to kill the bride on the day of the wedding. The tortuous passion shows the underside of the splendor of the slave society. Free version of the novel "Cecilia Valdés o La loma del Ángel", by the Cuban writer Cirilo Villaverde.
