- Synopsis
- Police Superintendent Paul Bellamy is back, just like he is every year, in Nimes with his wife Françoise to spend summer in her family home. She dreams of taking a world cruise, but, although Paul adores his wife, he loathes traveling. Two good excuses keep him glued to the spot: the unexpected arrival of his half-brother Jacques, a small-time adventurer a bit too fond of the bottle, and the appearance on the scene of a desperate man who asks for his protection. In a sympathetic desire to help both one and the other, if possible by staying exactly where he is, Paul dedicates his time and energy to them, while also satisfying his natural curiosity for investigation. All too soon, his role of older brother starts causing him plenty of difficulties.
