- Synopsis
- While awaiting trial, the architect Vanzi (Franco Nero) ends up in prison accused of involuntary manslaughter and failing to provide assistance after a traffic accident. Imprisoned alongside murderers, thieves and rapists, he will witness the harsh reality of Italian prisons: corrupt officials, prisoners linked to organized crime, an inhuman judicial system and the omnipresent power of the Mafia. Against his will, Vanzi will end up involved in a spiral of violence that will lead him to confront the head of the guards, a nostalgic for fascism whom everyone calls 'the Duce' (Turi Ferro), and with the mafia boss in the prison, Salvatore Rosa (Claudio Nicastro).
