SYNOPSIS/PLOT A saga centered on a multi-generational family of New York City Police officers. The family's moral codes are tested when Ray Tierney (Edward Norton), investigates a case that reveals an incendiary police corruption scandal involving his own brother-in-law (Colin Farrell). For Ray, the truth is revelatory, a Pandora's Box that threatens to upend not only the Tierney legacy but the entire NYPD.
PRO REVIEWS ----------------------------------------
"Yes, it's a police drama, but not the kind that clogs up TV with bullets and clichés. (...) directed with grit and grace (...) Its value is unquestionable as drama and moral provocation. (...) Rating: *** (out of four)." (Peter Travers: Rolling Stone)
----------------------------------------
"It follows the well-worn pathways of countless police dramas before it. (...) sensationally bad ending (...) Rating: ** (out of four)." (Roger Ebert: Chicago Sun-Times)
----------------------------------------
"The entire enterprise, which supposedly celebrates honor in a cynical world, succumbs to rank cynicism itself. (...) Pride and Glory would be risible if it weren't so reprehensible." (Ann Hornaday: The Washington Post)
----------------------------------------
"Not especially good, but there is enough rough artistry in Mr. O’Connor’s direction to make you wish the film were better. (...) the story, while none too fresh has a certain rough potency. " (A. O. Scott: The New York Times)
