Synopsis
Two young men accidentally kill a man in an African shantytown. They hide out in the ghetto known as the “Bronx,” joining up with the gang that control the neighborhood. Violence, partying, the brotherhood of gang life become the daily routine. Toussaint, the eldest, seeks out the protection of “old guard” Tyson. He adapts to the law of the mob, based on honor and respect for the elders, while seeking a way out through his relationship with Miriam, a young hawker at the local fishmarket. His friend, Nixon, feels left out, and their relationship deteriorates. Nixon contests the “Miami law” laid down by the “old guard,” a law requiring the young kids on the block to share their loot. After all, everyone knows how tough his father was! Why should he have to jump through hoops? With his friends Tupac, Amaru and Simpliste, Nixon mounts a pitiful hold-up that goes badly wrong. To get him out of prison, Toussaint is obliged to betray his crew. Together once again, the two friends must flee to “Barbès,” lorded over by bloodthirsty Tarek Aziz. Here their dreams of freedom and happy tomorrows founder…
