- Synopsis
- Biography of the early years of Italian tenor Enrico Caruso (Ermanno Randi). The son of workmen, Caruso grows up poor in Naples. Having studied under Maestro Vergine he gives up singing after the death of his mother, only to start again when he falls in love with Stella (Gina Lollobrigida). After a disasterous debut in Trapani (he believes Stella has married another and is jealous) he decides to dedicate his life to singing.
