- Synopsis
- Night time in the railway station, Munich, Bavaria. Gianni is meeting Paolo, his fifteen-year-old son whom he has never met and who is fast asleep on the train heading for Berlin. Gianni has just remarried and has a child. Gianni does not know how to behave. Paolo explains how he can help him. The boy is handicapped and is going to a specialised clinic for rehabilitation. Paolo suddenly behaves in ways he cannot understand; he rejects him with violence. Nevertheless something unites them. There are beautiful moments of intimacy. While Paolo is undergoing treatment, Gianni comes to understand just how little he knows about anything to do with the boy. But he realises that he no longer wants to see him “tortured” by something that will only heal him physically. In an outburst of rage he interrupts a session and drags Paolo away from the hospital. They leave for Norway. The pretext: Paolo has met a young girl on the internet. Gianni decides they should meet. While crossing the sea Gianni throws the stick Paolo has always used to walk with into the water. Father and son are finally their own masers. Gianni confesses to Paolo that when they return to Italy he is to come and live with him. It is the beginning of a new relationship, full of questions and hopes that at a certain point...
