| SYNOPSIS/PLOT |
TV Series (2009-Present). Glee follows an optimistic high school teacher as he tries to transform the school's once top-flight, but now moribund Glee Club and inspire a group of talented but unfocused performers to make it to, and win, the biggest competition of them all: Nationals. In his way is not just the indifferent principal, but also the sponsors of the cheerleading and football groups both of whom see his efforts as detracting from their own. His wife, whose acquisitiveness is out of control, wants him to ignore his love of teaching and quit to become an accountant, so they'll have more money for her to spend. |
| PRO REVIEWS |
----------------------------------------
"Even with its problems (...) it's one of the best shows of the fall season" (Robert Lloyd: Los Angeles Times)
----------------------------------------
"I never stopped smiling while watching the first few episodes of this pitch-perfect comedy, which finds that elusive sweet spot between snark and heart" (Hank Stuever: The Washington Post)
----------------------------------------
"(...) this is the freshest and most joyful new show of the year" (James Poniewozik: Time)
----------------------------------------
"Will this strange combination of starry-eyed optimism and manicured irony eventually combust? Possibly. But until then, there's a lot to like about this weird and frequently winning hybrid" (Maureen Ryan: Chicago Tribune)
----------------------------------------
"Like most hot-burning cultural phenomena, 'Glee' carries the risk of over-saturation (...), which will require evolution and perhaps inevitably a bit of reinvention" (Brian Lowry: Variety)
