SYNOPSIS/PLOT

David Trueba’s latest is the coming-of-age story of twentysomething Samuel. Newly arrived in Madrid, he has just moved in with his girlfriend Eva. His new job as photographer for a local newspaper suddenly fills the couple’s life with unexpected company—Samuel’s lively and slightly wacky troupe of new colleagues (performed by Ariadna Gil, Juan Echanove y Jorge Sanz). Despite feeling lost in his new context and bogged down by their cynical approach to life and constant meddling in his affairs, Samuel tries to juggle a new job, a new shared life with his partner, and news of his imminent paternity. This buoyant film reflects on issues of commitment, responsibility, and fear of becoming an adult with great humor and affection, featuring a stellar cast and music by Argentine pop star Andrés Calamaro.
